Have you ever had that moment where you felt like God was nudging you to share your faith, but fear stopped you in your tracks? Maybe you were in a conversation, and the perfect opportunity came up to talk about Jesus, but you hesitated. You worried about what to say, how it would come across, or what the other person would think. Trust me, I’ve been there too.
Sharing our faith can feel scary, especially as women. We don’t want to come across as pushy or make things awkward. Maybe we feel unqualified—like we need to have all the answers before we can talk about Jesus. But here’s the truth: God never asks us to be perfect. He just asks us to be willing.
So, let’s talk about it—why evangelism feels intimidating, how God has used women just like us to share His love, and how we can step out in faith, knowing that He will give us the words we need. If we were sitting together over coffee, this is what I’d want to tell you.

Worship Song for this study
Each Bible study post will have a song that I have chosen to go with the study.
I advise you to play the song while you read through the study and complete the Heart Check Questions.
After completing all the study work, I usually sit silently and let the song play a little louder and really concentrate on the words and how you can apply them to your life and this study.

Why Does Evangelism Feel So Hard?
I think we can all agree—sharing our faith isn’t always easy. But why? Here are some of the biggest reasons I’ve struggled, and maybe you have too:
- Fear of what others will think. We want to be kind and respectful, and sometimes we worry that bringing up faith will make things uncomfortable.
- Feeling unqualified. “What if they ask a question I don’t know the answer to?” Sound familiar?
- Lack of confidence. Maybe you’ve thought, “I’m not bold like other people—I’m just not the ‘evangelism type.’”
- Not knowing where to start. How do you even bring up Jesus in a normal conversation without it feeling forced?
But here’s the thing: Evangelism isn’t about having the perfect words. It’s about trusting that God will speak through us. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” If God has called us to share, He’s going to equip us to do it!
God Has Always Used Women to Share the Gospel
If you think about it, some of the boldest evangelists in the Bible were women—ordinary women with messy pasts, doubts, and fears.
- The Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:28-30, 39) – She had a complicated past, yet when she met Jesus, she couldn’t wait to tell her whole town about Him. And guess what? Many believed because of her testimony.
- Esther (Esther 4:14-16) – She had every reason to stay quiet, but she stepped out in faith and spoke up when it mattered most.
- Mary Magdalene (John 20:16-18) – She was the first to share the news of Jesus’ resurrection!
God didn’t choose these women because they were experts or had perfect lives—He chose them because they were willing. And He wants to use us too.
Jesus even reassures us in Matthew 10:19-20: “Do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”
That means we don’t have to stress about having all the right words. We just need to step out in faith, and God will take care of the rest.
I can personally attest to what can happen when you just allow the Holy Spirit to speak through you. I was on a mission trip to Costa Rica in 2024 and it was my first street evangelism opportunity. I was terrified and had literally just memorized a script I had made for myself using the evangicube (more on that evangelism tool later). At first I sounded like I was just reciting a script, but as the day and week went along the Holy Spirit took over and added more. As I allowed Him to speak through me, thoughts would come to mind that were meant just for that person. It was different each time and I instantly saw the connection happen between us. So it does work, you just have to be willing to try!
Overcoming Fear and Trusting God to Speak Through You
So, how do we actually push past the fear and start sharing our faith? Here are a few things I’ve learned:
- It’s not about us—it’s about Him. I used to think I had to be the perfect spokesperson for Jesus, but the truth is, God is the one who does the work in people’s hearts. We’re just the messengers.
- God is already working behind the scenes. Before we even open our mouths, He’s been preparing the hearts of the people we’ll talk to.
- The Holy Spirit gives us the words. The pressure isn’t on us to have a perfect script—God will guide our conversations if we trust Him.
Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
That power? It’s not our own confidence or knowledge—it’s the Holy Spirit giving us the boldness to share.
Practical Ways to Share Your Faith (Without Feeling Awkward!)
If you’re like me, you probably want some real, practical ways to start sharing your faith. Here are a few simple steps:
- Pray for opportunities. Ask God each morning to give you a chance to talk about Him, and then watch how He opens doors!
- Start with the people around you. You don’t have to preach on a street corner—just look for natural ways to bring up faith in conversations with friends, family, or coworkers.
- Use hospitality as a tool. Invite someone over for coffee and talk about what God is doing in your life.
- Share your story. Your testimony is one of the most powerful ways to introduce someone to Jesus. It doesn’t have to be dramatic—just be real about how He has changed your life.
- Let your conversations be natural. Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” A simple, honest discussion about faith can go a long way.
You Were Made for This!
I know sharing your faith can feel intimidating, but I want you to know this: God has placed you exactly where you are for a reason. There are people in your life—friends, coworkers, even strangers—who need to hear about Jesus, and He wants to use YOU to reach them.
I love the boldness of Isaiah in Isaiah 6:8: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'”
That’s my prayer for us. That we would be willing to say, “Here I am, Lord. Use me.”
Let’s Do This Together!
I want to challenge you—ask God for one person to share with this week. It doesn’t have to be a full gospel presentation. Maybe it’s a kind word, an invitation to church, or simply sharing something God has done in your life. Take that step of faith and trust that God will take care of the rest.
And let’s pray together:
“Lord, thank You for calling me to share Your love with others. I confess my fears and doubts, but I choose to trust You. Give me boldness, wisdom, and opportunities to share about You. Let my words be full of grace, and may Your Spirit guide every conversation. Use me for Your glory. Amen.”
You’ve got this, friend. And more importantly, God’s got you. Let’s be bold together!

Prioritizing God: Lessons from Haggai for Christian Women
The book of Haggai may be short, but it’s packed with wisdom that applies to Christian women today. Haggai was a prophet who encouraged the Israelites to rebuild the temple after returning from exile. His message calls for obedience, faithfulness, and prioritizing God’s work over personal comfort.
